Our Swinburne Advantage
Our program is built on a Design School DNA, with design-thinking embedded in every unit. This fosters creativity, innovation, and a student-centred approach to teaching and learning, equipping graduates with the mindset and tools needed for modern education environments.
Students can tailor their learning through elective streams in STEM–Maths, STEM–Science, English, and assessment options. This flexibility ensures that the course aligns with individual career goals and teaching interests.
The program features a flexible carousel structure, delivered over four 10-week terms. Students can choose to complete it in one year full-time or two years part-time, with multiple intakes available throughout the year to suit different schedules.
A mentor-rich practicum experience is central to the course. It includes both school-based placements and micro-practicums on campus, providing hands-on teaching practice and access to experienced mentors who guide students through real-world challenges.
We offer multimodal delivery to support diverse learning needs. Whether face-to-face, live online, or asynchronous, students can engage with the course in ways that fit their personal and professional lives.
Lastly, embedded reflective practice is woven throughout the program. A journaling component in every unit helps students develop a mindset of continuous improvement, encouraging them to reflect on their teaching journey and grow as educators.
Note: Students are also enrolled for the Graduate Certificate of Learning and Teaching units (beginning with EDU), which are completed online.
