Swinburne Charity Cruiser Club

Swinburne Charity Cruiser Club (SCCC) was established in November 2015. The club was formed by a few Swinburne university students who have the passion in helping the poor and needy. Ever since then,  the club has grown into an amazingly big and fun family with 90 members as of today, 6 April 2018.

The club not only helps nurture in our university students the spirit of generosity and concern for others, but also encourages the culture of giving back to society through various charitable activities regardless of the extent. Over the last three years, besides organising many non-profit events, SCCC club members have been volunteering in 3 main yearly programs, namely:

  1. My Hope Reading Program through which children with low English proficiency are taught to read and learn English in a fun and interesting way.
  2. Food Distribution Program where groceries are distributed to the families living in poverty around Kuching.
  3. KFC Sharing Moment when members travel together to rural areas to give out groceries and KFC meals.

With the mission to bring cheers and transform lives, the club prides itself on bringing joy to the lives of many less fortunate families and children since its establishment.

Our main objectives are:

  • To provide students a platform to help the poor and needy in the society
  • To provide a different learning experience in helping the less fortunate
  • To create awareness of helping the society among youths
  • To build character and develop leadership skills
  • To improve members’ communication and interpersonal skills

The SCCC Club welcomes all students regardless of discipline, religion, race, nationality, ethnic origin, age, gender, disability or sexual orientation. The membership fee is RM5 per semester.
