Games, food and entertainment at Swinburne Carnival this 27 and 28 April

KUCHING There will be multiple games, wide range of local and international food, entertainment and a whole lot of fun at the Swinburne Carnival 2018 organised by the university’s Swinburne Sarawak Student Council from 27 to 28 April 2018.

The two-day event to be held on campus is open to public from 10.00am to 7.00pm daily. Proceeds from the carnival will be channelled to two animal welfare organisations namely the Sarawak Society For The Prevention Of Cruelty To Animals (SSPCA) and Save our Strays (S.O.S).

Highlights of the carnival include up to 40 food vendors stationed at the foyer of the campus Block G. Booths operated by student clubs of the university consist of Leo Club, Frisbee Club, Table Tennis Club, Korean Club, Japanese Club, Indonesian Student Club, Taekwondo Club, Kendo Club, IEM, AIESEC, Robotics Club, Chess Club and others.

External vendors will also be participating in the event such as Pullman Hotel, Roti John Miri, B.Z.M.Z Enterprise, Erawan Andrean Fragrance, Esport Kenyalang, Pure Juices, Natural Remedy, Candy Gem Chic, Manokbeast, Carpark Café, Mikballs, Takolab and many more.

Besides food vendors, visitors can also look forward to performances and entertainment by Swinburne Music Club, #TeamKenneth, Andro & Friends (sape), DJ Anika and MC Pramuk, as well as an open mic session. Other attractions include game activities operated by Sarawak Sentosa Theme Park, K-night (K-pop concert) show performed by the Swinburne Korean Club and Dancing Club, Swinburne Chess Open and Automobile Expo. Entrance tickets to the K-night show can be purchased on the spot at RM20 per ticket.

On top of that, a blood donation drive and free health screening booth will also be available. On 27 April, the activities will be carried out by Normah Medical Specialist Centre and on 28 April by Borneo Medical Centre. It will take place at B005 – B006 from 10.00am to 4.00pm on both days.
