Swinburne rated top for teaching quality

Swinburne University of Technology is once again rated as one of Melbourne’s top universities for teaching quality in the Good Universities Guide 2013 released today.

“Our success is driven by the quality of our teaching that equips students with the knowledge and capabilities they need to establish successful careers,” Vice-Chancellor Professor Linda Kristjanson said.

“Swinburne students graduate with valuable and sought after skills that help them enter and get ahead in the workforce.

“This has been recognised in Swinburne’s achievement of a five-star rating for generic skills and a four-star rating for getting a job.”

Swinburne also stands out in this year’s Good Universities Guide for graduate satisfaction, staff qualifications and the learning pathways offered.

Swinburne is also a major provider of TAFE to university pathways for which it received a five-star rating. Swinburne’s Guaranteed Entry Scheme assures Swinburne TAFE Diploma and Advanced Diploma students of a place in a bachelor degree when they successfully complete their TAFE program.

The Good Universities Guide is Australia’s only comprehensive degree and university ratings guide, releasing an annual publication rating universities in a number of categories.

The guide comes just weeks after this year’s Academic Ranking of World Universities saw Swinburne recognised as one of Victoria’s top three universities, along with the University of Melbourne and Monash University.

“Swinburne’s move up the ladder proves the success of our focus and investment in research and research infrastructure, along with our strengths in science, innovation, technology, business and design,” Professor Kristjanson said.

“We’re proud of the high quality of the education that Swinburne offers our students and the value that a Swinburne degree delivers our graduates.”
