Biography

Ms Su Sueh Ing has been teaching in various higher learning institutions in Malaysia for over 20 years in the areas of Accounting, Cost and Management Accounting for Diploma, Foundation, Undergraduate and Professional courses (AAT, LCCI, CPA). Currently, she is the full-time senior accounting lecturer in Swinburne University of Technology (Sarawak Campus). Ms Su is currently an Associate Supervisors for Masters students. Prior to that, she had been a Program Coordinator for Foundation Business and Undergraduate Bachelor of Business/Commerce Programs for about 7 years at the Faculty of Business and Design at Swinburne Sarawak. She was then also a Coordinator for University marketing activities representing the Faculty and was actively involved in organising business activities and giving talks in secondary schools in Kuching, Sibu and Sarikei. Ms Su also had the Train-the-Trainer certificate from S.I.T Corporate Learning Centre and Pembangunan Sumber Manusia Berhad (HRDF). Ms Su was nominated as Kuching Working Group member for CPA Australia in 2009. She was also nominated as Assessor representing Swinburne Sarawak for Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) Global Business Challenge in 2014 and 2015 consecutively. Ms Su was invited by Times Higher Education in May 2021 as one of the panel speakers in an international webinar to share on Modernising Student Recruitment.

Ms Su is very passionate to guide and inspire the younger generation through her interactions with students in and outside classroom. She had also initiated in organising and leading her students to various external competitions such as the National Inter-Varsity Accounting Quiz, CIMA Global Business Challenge and Maybank Go Ahead Challenge. Ms Su had also been an active advisor of Swinburne Accounting Club for about 10 years. The Club had won the Most Active Club (Academic) category in 2014 and the Best Organising Club in 2015 through organising many major events for students inclusive of Undergraduate Business Conferences over the years. Many industry speakers were invited and the Conference had attracted over 150 participants consistently over the years. This year, the School of Foundation Studies has supported Hult Prize On Campus Program, which is one of the world’s most acclaimed social entrepreneurship programs. This Hult Prize annual challenges align with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals and was held for the first time for Swinburne Sarawak students via online platform with the 2020-2021 theme: Food for Good.

Ms Su is also passionate to cultivate young learners in particular the rural community and is currently a team member of the STEAM project which was awarded an Education Program grant by the Sarawak Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Research (MESTR) in 2020. The project was awarded a highly commended mention in the category of Vice-Chancellor’s 2020 Community Engagement Award. The project is in response to the Swinburne Strategic Plans 2025 and Malaysia Education Blueprint to build on its strengths in STEM education and social inclusion for all.
