Acceptability of Mobile Payment in Government Services: Case Study of Sarawak Pay
Sarawak Pay is relatively new and there is requirement to look few factors that influence the intention to use mobile payment. However none of prior studies investigate on moderating effect of service partners towards mobile payment acceptance. This study aims is to provide some insight on factors that influence the consumers’ intention and also examine the degree of public and private service offering that can influence consumer intention to use mobile payment app (Sarawak Pay). Based on a sample of 120 respondents using e-questionnaire and convenience sampling method, this study quantifies on the factors contribute to the users intention to use mobile payment and elucidates how the service offering attributes moderates the relationship between the factors that influence the use of mobile payment in the case study of Sarawak Pay and intention to use. The results indicate that perceived usefulness has significant effect on behaviour intention and moderating variable that consists of service provider. Consumers were perceived to have some control on their behaviour in using mobile payment for government agencies. The present study empirically test the significance of newly suggested TAM extension with the degree of public-private offering as moderators. The complete study therefore can be used as a basis for future research.
