Swinburne Sarawak holds Info Day this Saturday

KUCHING – SPM and STPM school leavers looking to pursue tertiary studies will be able to enrol on courses at the Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus “Info Day” event this Saturday, 28 June.

Foundation studies at the university begin on 21 July while degree courses will commence on 8 September.

Visitors to the 10am-5pm Info Day may consult academic staff at the respective faculty booths on courses that interest them.

Swinburne Sarawak offers an array of business, computing, design, engineering and science courses as well as English language. Most are accredited by professional bodies such as the Institution of Engineers Australia, Board of Engineers Malaysia and CPA Australia.

Activities including demonstrations of student projects and campus tours give school leavers an idea of what to expect as a Swinburne Sarawak student.

To help families support their children’s education, the university offers a range of scholarships and financial aid for those who meet the criteria. Information on these schemes may be obtained from the appropriate booth.

School leavers who have yet to decide on their career path may take what the university calls a “career personality test”. The quick test on computer determines the personality type, interest and strengths of the applicant and based on the result, trained counsellors will offer guidance and advice on suitable disciplines.

Those keen to apply for a course of study are advised to bring along their SPM or STPM result slips and identity card.

The university is offering a waiver of application fee for applications received on the day, and a letter of offer will be issued to those who meet the entry requirements of the course.

Apart from foundation and degree courses, graduates who are interested in postgraduate studies may consult with senior academics on these courses during Info Day.

The Swinburne Sarawak MBA International starts on 30 July while the intake for its MA (TESOL) program is 8 September.
