Associate Professor – Electrical and Electronic Engineering [fixed-term contract]

For the Associate Professor – Electrical and Electronic Engineering position at the Faculty of Engineering, Computing and Science, this search includes the sub-areas of generation, transmission, distribution, and utilisation of electric power, the electrical apparatus connected to such systems, hydrogen power and renewable energy. A relevant PhD from a recognised institution and registration with a professional body are required. Candidates with a professional qualification (PEng, IPEA/APEC Engineer) or those progressing towards the qualification are desirable. The candidates should have experience in teaching in higher education. The experience in fostering partnerships between academia and industry is an advantage. In addition, they should demonstrate proven track record of substantial research output and significant impact.  
  
Requirements:
  • A relevant PhD from a recognised institution. 
  • Registration with a professional body such as Board of Engineers Malaysia is required.  
  • Professional qualification (PEng, IPEA/APEC Engineer) or those progressing towards the qualification are desirable. 
  • Having knowledge in generation, transmission, distribution, and utilisation of electric power, the electrical apparatus connected to such systems, hydrogen power and renewable energy. 
  • Having significant experience in teaching in higher education in a relevant discipline. 
  • Having experience in establishing and developing significant partnerships between academia and industry is an advantage.

Associate Professor – Quantity Surveying / Construction Management [fixed-term contract]

Successful candidates will be expected to convene and teach undergraduate units of study in the School of Engineering and Science in academic disciplines related to Quantity Surveying and Masters of Construction Management. In addition, the ability to teach a wide range of Quantity Surveying areas including Construction Technology, Measurements, Professional Practice, and Construction-related software and technology will be an added advantage. The successful candidate(s) shall provide leadership in teaching, both traditional and non-traditional research as well as external engagement for Quantity Surveying and the university as a whole.

Requirements:   
  • PhD in Quantity Surveying; Construction Management; Civil Engineering; or related disciplines.
  • A Professional Quantity Surveying (PQS) or Consultant Quantity Surveying (CQS) candidate will be an added advantage. 
  • Proven a strong track record of substantial research output and significant impact. 
  • Maintain good, sustained, and successful research grants with impact measured by publications in leading journals and other research outputs.
  • Has excellent record in supervising postgraduate research students. 
  • Proficiency in using industry-relevant software and technology will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in teaching or training in higher education in a relevant discipline.
  • Active involvement in professional organizations or societies related to Quantity Surveying is desirable.

Lecturer (PhD) – Computer Science / Software Engineering [fixed-term contract]

We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced individual to join our institution specialising in Software Engineering, with a focus on requirement engineering, system architecture and design and UI/UX. As an expert in these areas, you will deliver engaging lectures, practical sessions, and mentor students pursuing degrees or certifications in software engineering. Your role will be pivotal in imparting theoretical and practical knowledge, preparing both postgraduate and undergraduate students for real-world challenges, and nurturing their passion for this rapidly evolving field. 

Requirements:
  • A doctoral degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. 
  • Professional certifications such as Scrum, or equivalent certifications are highly desirable. 
  • Demonstrated expertise and experience in Full stack technology, including knowledge of industry standards, methodologies, and tools.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, effectively conveying complex software engineering concepts to students with varying technical backgrounds. 
  • Prior teaching experience, preferably in higher education settings, is advantageous. 
  • Proficiency in artificial intelligent tools used for software development, quality control and evaluation. 
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
