FACULTY OF BUSINESS, DESIGN AND ARTS 

School of Business

Associate Professor / Senior Lecturer / Lecturer (PhD) – Business (Accounting / Management)

Applications are invited for academic positions in the School of Business at Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak. The appointee will be expected to contribute across diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate courses at the School of Business.

Successful candidates will be expected to convene and teach diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate units of study in the School of Business in academic disciplines related to their academic qualifications (degrees), research expertise (publications), and/or professional engagement (memberships). The successful candidates shall provide academic leadership in business research and teaching. They are also expected to supervise higher degree research students, participate in administrative duties, and contribute to the collegial and intellectual life of the School, the Faculty, and the University.

 The Requirements:

  • Candidates applying at all levels should possess strong commitment to research and advancing their field of expertise, including the supervision of postgraduate studies, to build the research profile of the School of Business.
  • Candidates applying at the Associate Professor level should hold a completed PhD from an accredited university and an established track record of research excellence, including a string of successful high impact publications in premier journals ranked A* and A in the latest Australian Business Deans Council (ABDC) Journal Ranking List.
  • Candidates applying at the Senior Lecturer level should hold a completed PhD from an accredited university and an established track record in research, including a string of successful high impact publications in the latest Australian Business Deans Council (ABDC) Journal Ranking List.
  • Candidates applying at the Lecturer level should also hold a completed PhD and an emerging track record in research.

      Applications are invited for the academic positions in the Faculty of Engineering, Computing and Science. Candidates with outstanding record of excellence in industry / teaching / research are encouraged to apply.

      Professor / Associate Professor / Senior Lecturer / Lecturer (PhD) – Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering (fixed-term contract)
      For the Mechanical engineering position at the School of Engineering and Science, this search includes all sub areas in the discipline, with priority given to smart manufacturing / industry 4.0 / Dynamics and Control / Vibration / Fluid Mechanics / Thermal Science and HVAC/ Mechanical Systems Design / Structure and Computational Mechanics. A relevant PhD from a recognised institution and registration with professional body are required. Candidates with a professional qualification (PEng, IPEA/APEC Engineer) or progressing towards the qualification are highly desirable.  

      Professor / Associate Professor / Senior Lecturer / Lecturer (PhD) – Electrical Power / Electrical & Electronic (fixed-term contract)
      For the Electrical Power position at the School of Engineering and Science, this search includes all sub areas in the discipline, with priority given to smart grids / energy storage. A relevant PhD from a recognised institution and registration with professional body are required. Candidates with a professional qualification (PEng, IPEA/APEC Engineer) or progressing towards the qualification are highly desirable. 

      Professor / Associate Professor / Senior Lecturer (PhD) – Computing (fixed-term contract)
      For the Computing position at the School of Information and Communications Technologies, candidates with the following qualifications are encouraged to apply:

      Skillsets and knowledge:

      • Cybersecurity and/or Network security, cybersecurity certifications from CSX, ISACA, Palo Alto’s AAC or progressing towards similar certifications would be an added advantage. A relevant PhD from a recognised institution is required.

            OR

      • Data science and/or analytics skillsets and knowledge. Relevant certifications from SAS, Tableau, Dell EMC, Cloudera, Google, IBM or Microsoft would be an added advantage. A relevant PhD from a recognised institution is required.

      AND

      Industry Experience:

      On top of technical skillsets and knowledge in cybersecurity or data science, more than 5-year experience in engaging funded project from industries, managed and delivered outcomes/outputs in accordance with or exceeding the expectation and satisfaction of industrial clients. Scrum and/or Prince2 and/or PMP certifications would be an advantage.
