As part of Student Life services, spaces like the Multipurpose Hall and Student Hub are bookable through Skedda.

Students
Space booking for sport and leisure are now available online. Please log into CANVAS for further details on the Single Sign-On. Usage allowed are 2 hours per student/group.
Space booking are subjected to change for University Event, user(s)/student(s) will be notified via email.
Once you have booked the space, mandatory check-in is required. Space hoarding/ no-show will be observed.
Clubs and Societies
Have an approved event and require a venue?
All Clubs and Socities' events must be supported by SSSC and Student Life by an approved e-proposal.
Club advisors will make venue booking on behalf of the clubs and societies activities.

Staff
All staff planning too organise an event at Student Life Sport and Leisure spaces/venues will be able to view real-time availability. Please ensure the events are HMU approved, prior to confirm booking.

Sweat it out with colleagues? Friendly match? Usage allowed are 2 hours per staff/group. To book the venue, please register here first. You will be brought directly to venue booking. However due to limited visibility, staff user may have to complete a two-step verification.

Code of Conduct for the Use of Bookable Spaces
The University provides bookable spaces to support learning, teaching, research, meetings, and student engagement activities. All users are expected to use these facilities responsibly and respectfully to ensure a safe, inclusive, and productive environment for everyone.
All users are required to comply with the following Code of Conduct when booking and using University facilities through the Skedda booking system.
What's expected:
When booking and using University spaces
- You must make bookings using your own valid University account.
- You must adhere strictly to your approved booking time and vacate the space promptly at the end of your booking.
- You must use the booked space only for the purpose stated during the booking process. Any change in the intended use must be communicated to and approved by the relevant University department.
- You must carry your valid University student or staff ID card and present it upon request.
- You must not transfer, share, or misuse your booking or allow another person to use the space under your booking without prior approval.
- You must not grant access to, or permit the use of University facilities by, unauthorised persons.
- You must ensure that the number of occupants does not exceed the maximum capacity of the booked space.
- You must remove all personal belongings and equipment from the space upon completion of your booking.
- You are responsible for your personal belongings. The University accepts no responsibility for any loss, theft, or damage to personal property.
When using University facilities and equipment
- You must handle all furniture, equipment, and facilities with care and use them only for their intended purpose.
- You must switch off lights, air-conditioning, and equipment (where applicable) before leaving the space.
- You must return all furniture to its original arrangement after use.
- You must immediately report any damage, defects, or malfunction of University property to the staff or student helper on duty, or via [email protected].
- You will be responsible for the cost of repairing or replacing any University property that is lost or damaged due to misuse, negligence, or unauthorised use.
You must not disrupt the use of University facilities
You must not:
- Create excessive noise or engage in disruptive behaviour that interferes with other users.
- Harass, intimidate, or behave in an offensive or inappropriate manner towards other users or University staff.
- Use the booked space for activities that are unlawful, unsafe, or inconsistent with the approved booking purpose.
- Continue occupying the space beyond your allocated booking period.
You must help maintain a safe, clean, and respectful environment
You must not:
- Consume food or beverages in spaces where they are prohibited. Where permitted, only bottled water may be brought into the space, and any spills must be cleaned immediately.
- Smoke, vape, consume alcohol, or use illegal substances within University facilities.
- Leave rubbish, personal belongings, or equipment behind after your booking.
- Damage, remove, misuse, or tamper with University property or equipment.
- Block emergency exits or interfere with safety or emergency equipment.
Compliance with University Policies
All users must comply with the University's policies, procedures, and regulations when booking and using University facilities.
Users are responsible for the conduct of all participants attending activities under their booking and must ensure that all attendees comply with this Code of Conduct.
Avoid Penalties
Failure to comply with this Code of Conduct or the University's booking conditions may result in one or more of the following actions:
- Immediate termination of the booking.
- Removal from the booked facility.
- Temporary or permanent suspension of Skedda booking privileges.
- Referral to the Student Safety and Care team or the relevant University department for investigation.
- Disciplinary action under the University's Student General Misconduct Regulations or Staff Code of Conduct, where applicable.
- Recovery of costs associated with the repair, replacement, or cleaning of damaged University property.
The University reserves the right to cancel bookings, refuse future bookings, or restrict access to University facilities where users fail to comply with this Code of Conduct
