Click on each step to discover what you’ll need to do. Each step is important so make sure you go through all of them.

STEP 1:  Welcome Swinbees! E-mail

Welcome to Swinburne Sarawak and your journey begins with the Welcome Swinbees! E-mail from the university. You’ll receive this email in your personal email once you have been registered into your courses. Please read the e-mail thoroughly as it contains important information about your registration and orientation before proceeding to the subsequent steps.

Upon receiving this email, you should have access to your student E-mail and CANVAS, a learning management system (LMS).

If you didn’t receive this email, do check your Junk folder, otherwise please send an email to studentexperience@swinburne.edu.my.

STEP 2:  Log in to Student Portal

Student Portal is your one stop for all your Uni essentials – Academics (e.g. enrolment and registration, class timetable, exam timetable, results etc.), students accounts (i.e. fees charges) and financial aid (e.g. installment plan). Look forward to receiving personalized communication from the Uni and explore the self-service tools.

  • Go to Swinburne website > Students
  • Click on STUDENT PORTAL in the green box

Sign in with the following credentials:

Username : StudentID@students.swinburne.edu.my
Password : SUTS@yyyymmdd (where yyyymmdd is your date of birth)

You will be prompted to change your password at first login

STEP 3:  Get your program study planner

Your registration for Semester 1/ Term 1 will be completed by the University and for your subsequent semesters/terms, you will need to complete this on your own.

This is where your program planner comes in. The program planner shows you all the units that you’ll take during your course of study and its sequence. It is important you follow the same sequence as your program planner, as registering in a different order could affect the units you can register into in future teaching periods. This also means that it takes you a longer time to complete your program, which could affect your student visa.

STEP 4:  View your class timetable on Student Portal

Your timetable will be ready at least one (1) week before the class commencement.

To view you timetable,

  • Login to your Student Portal
  • Click on My class > My Timetable.

This option is available of the left-side bar.

Further details can be obtained through the Class Timetable Quick Guide

STEP 5:  Viewing your fees on Student Portal

To find out about your fees, click on My Finances > Student Ledger. Amount payable will vary and this is based on your program and courses. Learn how to make your fees payment here.

To navigate your Student Ledger, please refer to Quick Guide: How to get My Financial Transaction Summary

STEP 6:  Student handbook

The student hand book is your guide to policies, guidelines and standards that are expected of you as a Swinburne student. Download a copy for your reading and safekeeping here.

Click here to acknowledge that you have read the Student Handbook.

STEP 7:  Academic Integrity (AI) online module

We take AI seriously. You will be automatically registered for the module so don’t be alarmed when you see this unit. We advise you not to drop the unit and it has to be completed within your first semester. Click here to begin.

STEP 8:  Accessing Student E-mail (Office 365)
