Senior Lecturer – TESL / TESOL [fixed-term contract]

Successful candidates will be expected to convene and teach undergraduate and postgraduate units in English/TESL/TESOL within the School of Design and Arts. The role includes supervising research students, leading curriculum development, and engaging in impactful research.

The appointed Senior Lecturer should demonstrate strong expertise in English language education, second language acquisition, and language pedagogy. Candidates with experience in technology-enhanced language learning, sociolinguistics, curriculum design, or bilingual education will be highly regarded. 

Requirements:

  • A PhD in TESL/TESOL, English Language Education, or a closely related field. 
  • Extensive experience in higher education teaching and program development in TESL/TESOL.  
  • A strong record of research in second language teaching/learning, pedagogy, or language education technology.  
  • Experience in supervising research students at the Master’s and/or PhD level.  
  • Engagement with industry, community, or global initiatives in TESL/TESOL education is an advantage.

      Successful candidates will be expected to teach undergraduate courses in media and communication within the School of Design and Arts. The role requires expertise in media theory, digital communication, and emerging media trends.

      The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of media production, journalism, corporate communication, or digital storytelling. Candidates with expertise in social media strategies, public relations, or media ethics will be highly valued.

      Requirements: 

      • A PhD in Media and Communication, Journalism, Digital Media, or a related discipline.   
      • Experience in teaching higher education in media studies or communication.   
      • A research track record in media theory, digital communication, or media technologies.   
      • Candidates with expertise in data visualisation and news production (audio & video) are preferred.

          The successful candidates will be expected to develop and deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in the School of Design and Arts, covering areas related to digital design, typography, branding, illustration, and their area of research expertise. Additionally, the ability to teach a wide range of design subjects including interactive design, package design, animation, print media, and digital imaging will be an added advantage. The successful candidate(s) will be expected to provide leadership in teaching, research (both traditional and non-traditional), and foster external engagement for the School of Design and Arts and the university as a whole.  
            
          Requirements:  

          • PhD/Master in Graphic Design; Visual Communication Design; Game Design, UX and UI Design, Immersive Reality Design, Interactive Media Design or related disciplines.  
          • Knowledge in digital design, interactive media, branding, illustration is essential.  
          • Expertise in spatial deign, extended reality, package design, animation, or digital imaging will be an added advantage.

                        Associate Professor – Computer Science / ICT (Cybersecurity) [fixed-term contract]

                        We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced individual to join our institution specializing in Cybersecurity, with a focus on Penetration Testing and/or Information Systems Security. As an expert in these areas, you will deliver engaging lectures, practical sessions, and mentor students pursuing degrees or certifications in cybersecurity. Your role will be pivotal in imparting theoretical and practical knowledge, preparing both postgraduate and undergraduate students for real-world challenges, and nurturing their passion for this rapidly evolving field.   

                        Requirements:  
                        • A doctoral degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field. 
                        • Professional certifications such as OSCP (Offensive Security Certified Professional), CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), or equivalent certifications are highly desirable.
