Health and Safety Coordinator

The position is an administrative position at the Sarawak Campus. The position assists the Health and Safety Executive and is responsible for areas as designated by the Manager, Building Facilities. Currently, these include:
  • Support and assist in promoting a positive health and safety culture. This represents a key role in helping control occupational risk;
  • Ensure that all safety legislation is adhered to, and policies and practices are adopted; and
  • Support and assist in planning, implementing, monitoring and reviewing the protective and preventative measures that the University is required, or chooses to follow, and work to minimise operational losses, occupational health problems, accidents and injuries. This position will also be required to work closely with other staff members on campus to ensure all the building fire systems are in operational, legal certification related to building, fire system, machinery and other equipment are up-to-date.

Accountant – Business Intelligence Analyst

The position supports the business performance and its related activities of the Sarawak Campus. It is anticipated that Sarawak Campus will expand rapidly and that the responsibilities and scope of the position will grow accordingly.

The position will provide business performance support which will include developing and implementing business intelligence (BI) and tech savvy tools for data visualisation, business analysis for strategic planning and decision-making, budget and budgetary control, costing and management reports for Management Units, management of financial operations, risk management and annual unit action plan. In addition, the position will work closely with Manager, FBA on finance digitalisation transformation. The position will undertake a variety of duties in a busy office environment, working independently whilst exercising judgement to prioritise tasks in order to meet the deadlines set.

The position will be required to work within a culture of continuous improvement and will be supported and encouraged to identify areas where efficiency can be improved and control measures can be implemented to achieve a higher standard.

The position requires a high level of financial, report presentation, clerical and secretarial skills including Microsoft Excel and Words, time management and good communication skills. The position is also expected to work effectively in a team environment and to interact effectively with the University staff and relevant Heads of Management Units, and to the public in providing quality customer service at all times.

Assistant Manager – Recruitment

The position is responsible for assisting the Director, Human Resources (HR) in planning and managing the daily operations of a range of portfolios within the Recruitment function. The position will assist the Director, HR in planning, implementing and monitoring HR activities covering various HR portfolios – which include recruitment and selection, onboarding, and other matters related expatriates management. While supervising a team of staff, this position is expected to provide leadership to ensure smooth daily operations with expected deliverables completed within budget and set timelines.

The position is also responsible for assisting the Director in strategic initiatives and provision of advice that support the University goals. The position will assist in the planning and implementation of related HR projects and new initiatives undertaken by the Unit as well as any other relevant activities as assigned by the Director, HR or the Pro Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive Officer (Sarawak) – PVC & CEO (Sarawak) as and when required.

MARKETING AND STUDENT RECRUITMENT

Manager – Emerging Regions

The Manager, Emerging Regions is responsible for generating new student enrolments, according to targets, for SUTS programs via direct channels which include leads generated via walk-ins, phone-ins, e-mails, web-forms and leads acquired via digital marketing through search marketing, social media marketing, education aggregators and any other sources assigned by the supervisor.

While leading a team of e-education counselling staff, the Manager is expected to develop recruitment strategies, improve lead to enrolment conversion rates and deliver a high level of customer service that will ensure targets are met and within budget. This involves managing and monitoring the distribution channels that deliver these enrolments, and ensuring compliance with the Unit and University policies and procedures and relevant legislations.

As a member of the Student Recruitment team, a consultative selling approach is preferred in comparison to hard-selling or pressure-selling. Travel is required in this role as a majority of the recruitment process will be executed on-campus in person, via phone or through digital platforms.

Key responsibilities for this role include the following:
  • leading the production and implementation of student recruitment plans;
  • leading the development and management of relationships with a range of stakeholders including agents and other external stakeholders;
  • providing advice to students and parents on courses and other matters related to studying at Swinburne Sarawak and its affiliated campuses;
  • leading the coordination and successful execution of Open Day and Recruitment events on campus together with the Events team
  • ensuring efficient and effective processing of student applications; and
  • managing and conducting marketing activities in collaboration with academics.
The position works closely with Academic and Professional staff at Swinburne Sarawak and liaises with colleagues of Swinburne International (SI) Melbourne to ensure consistency in corporate style and efficient use of resources.

Executive – Digital Marketing

The University desires to expand the use of digital marketing for the primary purpose of student recruitment through search, content, social media and all other digital platforms to increase lead generation and management with an ultimate aim of conversion through enrolment.

The University aims to maintain a very high profile in its target markets through advertising the Swinburne brand to grow awareness, preference and recommendation. This position will lead the performance marketing and website management needs of the University. It is anticipated that Swinburne Sarawak will expand rapidly and that the responsibilities and scope of the position will grow accordingly.

This position is responsible for all digital marketing activities for the University with a key focus on digital lead generation and management, website management and the customer relationship management platform (CRM). This includes:
  • providing a ‘whole of university’ approach to developing a digital marketing strategy;
  • employing “growth-hacking” marketing strategies to increase return-on-marketing-investment;
  • exploring new and innovative ways of increasing quality leads for the Student Recruitment team; and
  • managing and analysing data in the CRM to make decisions about lead generation campaigns.
The position works closely with academic and administrative staff at Swinburne Sarawak and liaises with staff at other Swinburne campuses to ensure consistency in corporate style and efficient use of resources.

Consultancy Project Executive [fixed-term contract]

The responsibilities of this position include general administration of any internal and external research grants in the University, although the main priority focuses on Research Consultancy Projects. The administrative duties include project planning support, documentation management, schedule coordination, risk and issue tracking, stakeholder engagement, resource management, the communication and provision of grant related information to researchers, and the handling of all grant administration processes. This includes but is not limited to, processing of claims, management and entry of data, maintenance of filing systems as well as some analytical tasks. The position is expected to help the School of Research implement and improve new processes and guidelines related to research grants and research consultancy projects.

In undertaking these responsibilities, the position is expected to exhibit a highly professional approach in working closely and collaboratively with management and staff members at both the Sarawak and Melbourne campuses as well as with parties (private and government) external to the University.
