Main Library (Block A and B, 1st Floor)
The main library is located at the 1st floor of building A and B and has a modern seating arrangement designed to accommodate different study preferences, including individual space, group discussions, and leisure space. Main library is divided into two zones:
Quiet Zone (Block A) – provides peaceful and distraction-free environment for individual study and focused learning. This area is designated as a quiet space where discussions, and other activities that may cause noise are strictly prohibited.
Open bookshelves area is also located at this space.
Interactive Zone (Block B) – promotes flexible seating options and encourage collaboration, communication, and active engagement among students.
24-Hour Spaces
The Junction
The Junction is located at the Borneo Atrium. It is a dedicated 24-hour study space with two floors designed to support students’ learning needs at any time of the day. It also includes services such as printing station and discussion rooms.
Note:
Individuals with disabilities, particularly wheelchair users, can enter and exit The Junction through the doors leading to Block E after the main library has closed. They can access the lift via the walkway.
Student Study/Leisure Area (B001 – B003)
This area is located on the ground floor of Block B, the Student Study/Leisure Area provides a comfortable space and encourage interactive learning activities.
Hybrid BYOD (A208)
Hybrid BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) is located on the 2nd floor of Block A with a comfortable space and encourage interactive learning activities.
BYOD Learning Space (B413)
BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) Learning Space is located on the 4th floor of Block B.
Reminder:
Before entering all the library spaces, all users MUST scan their Swinburne ID card. This is for the Library to monitor the traffic and usage of the space.
Every user who arrives in a group needs to scan as well. We appreciate your cooperation.
Your responsibilities
- Your Swinburne ID card is for your use only. Do not bring others or outsiders in. Do not prop the door open.
- Respect other users by keeping noise to a minimum.
- Please do not bring food into the study spaces except covered drinks.
- Keep the study area clean and tidy: use the bins provided.
- Carry your Swinburne ID card with you. Security or library staff may ask you to leave if you don’t.
- Go home if you get tired. Sleeping in the study area may compromise your personal safety.
