Learn to Email Like A Pro Email has come a long way since its inception in 1971. Some might argue that email has sort of become obsolete due to the rise of instant messaging and social media but it should be highlighted that email is still an essential part of formal communication. Email shouldn’t be considered as old-fashioned or inconvenient to use as the features available in email makes it an appropriate tool to be used for online communication/learning purposes in higher educational institution. As a university student, it is also important that you know how to practise good email etiquette — principles of behaviour that one should use when writing or answering email messages — when communicating with your professors or tutors. This is because you want your message to be understood in a positive manner as well as taken seriously. In this workshop, you will also learn the skills necessary for managing emails professionally, and writing emails with clarity and proper structures to avoid misinterpretations and miscommunication.
